20 Weeks

I have to admit to being slightly disappointed at today's ultrasound. It wasn't as impressive as the last one. I don't know whether that's due to the baby being in a worse position or just being bigger and not fitting all on the screen as much. I thought the last pictures were cuter, though. Maybe it's that I'm looking forward to 4 1/2 more months of the heartburn I've had for the last two days. Or maybe it's that the last time we had a lot of fun watching the kiddo litterally bouncing around my uterus. It looks a lot more cramped in there now. Can't imagine how much more so it's going to get before baby's born.
Anyway, the important part is that baby seems healthy and is growing right on schedule. This scan put my due date on June 5, one day before the one we had been told 12 weeks ago. Here's a "video" if you're interested. WARNING: 7+ MB file for 3 seconds of movement!

Sigh. Whenever I have kids I am totally going to be Jennifer Aniston in Friends -- "I can't see it!!!" and crying.
Because all I see is blobs. Moving blobs. Maybe some eye sockets?
In the static picture, the circular "blob" is the head. You can see the eye sockets and nose cavity below it. Above the baby's head, kiind of between it and the body, there's a little white smudge that's a hand.
It's much easier to tell what's what when you watch it move live. And this one was not as clear as the last one.
You should have seen some of the other pictures. The doc would be like "here's the mouth open a bit - the upper lip is intact". I'm looking at it thinking that my kid looks like Van Gogt's 'The Scream'.
:P
What a sweet, sweet picture! How very exciting to see the baby move around! So where are all the 3D pictures? Those are way cool!
Makes me remember when I was about where you are, of course that's when I got my kidney stones so how could I forget. I also had a really hard time with heartburn, my doctor gave me Nexium, you should ask about it, it really helped for me. I felt better about taking 1 of those a day versus the constant stream of Tums, which they say is still okay because of the extra calcium... but then that's what caused my kidney stone, too much calcium... soooo guess my point was you should ask for Nexium... works good. :)
