Design Block

The other night I was amusing myself and exploring PaintShop by working on a custom design invitation for Carina's 1st birthday party. I like what I've done so far, but I'm at a loss as to what to do with the background. Maybe a couple catapillers? Flowers? What goes with alphabet blocks? And an apple?
(Completely random aside - I just saw a trailer for a new movie with Jackie Chan AND Jet Li in it. Gavin's head is going to explode!)
Anyway, back on the invitation... I welcome all ideas. I thought about just sending it to Sarah and seeing what she came up with, but I'm having fun doing it. I just need help getting past a little creative block here.

Oh, and I know you can't see the yellow blocks very well right now. I will either change the color of the blocks or the background.
That's really cute! You know, my suggestion would be to just leave it simple. Don't add caterpillars and whatnot, and instead just make the background some kind of non-instrusive pattern. Stripes, circles, something subtle.
I thought of the stripe thing. Maybe I'll work with that a bit. In my head, I thought it might need something else. Maybe a border... Hmmm, I guess i just need to experiment.
I would say a very subtle, patterned background, like Sarah suggested. Maybe light blue, or lavender as the primary color, that won't clash with the colors there but will make her and the blocks stand out a bit.
WHAT?? She's already going to be 1? Where did the time go? Great invite! I think it's very cute and creative!
